First Two Days

Well, my first two days are under my belt. While it’s great to be here, I must say that the first two days have been an uncomfortable grind.

First, I have not been able to shake this cold that I’m fighting. Camping in the national park on my first night didn’t help. While the wind is always high in the Tarifa area, it was extremely strong going through the park, to the point where I was fighting to keep my footing. That was exhausting to walk in, and it made camping difficult. I also underestimated my water supply for making the trek through the park, and ran out shortly after setting up camp. I had to spend part of day 2 hiking without water.

Day 2 was largely paved road walking, which takes its toll on your feet.

I need to make an effort to get well. I think that I will do a short day tomorrow to Jimena de la Frontera and get a bed there so I can sleep well.

Total distance covered: 67.1 Km

As always, thanks for following!
